Custom Domains

By default your links use the shared InfluTrace domain. With a custom domain you can send links from your own branded domain instead — for example go.yourbrand.com — which builds trust and reinforces your brand on every share.

SSL is handled for you, so links are served over HTTPS automatically once the domain is verified.

Adding a domain

Custom domains live under Settings → Domain Settings (admins only).

1. Click Add domain and enter the subdomain you want to use, e.g. go.yourbrand.com.
2. InfluTrace shows two DNS records to add at your domain registrar / DNS provider:
   • a CNAME record pointing your subdomain at the InfluTrace edge, and
   • a TXT record that proves you own the domain.
3. Add both records at your DNS provider exactly as shown.

Verifying

Back on the domain's card, click Verify DNS configuration. InfluTrace looks up your records and confirms ownership.

• If both records resolve, the domain switches on and becomes selectable when creating links.
• If verification fails, the card shows which record (CNAME or TXT) isn't resolving yet so you can fix it and retry.

DNS takes a moment

DNS changes can take a few minutes (sometimes longer) to propagate. If verification fails right after you add the records, wait a bit and try again.

SSL certificates

Once DNS validation succeeds, InfluTrace automatically issues an SSL certificate for your domain, so links are served securely over HTTPS — there's nothing to upload or configure.

Keep your DNS records in place

We re-check your DNS on a recurring basis. If the records stop resolving — for example the CNAME is removed or changed — and the checks keep failing, InfluTrace uninstalls the SSL certificate and removes the domain. Leave the CNAME and TXT records in place for as long as you use the domain.

Using a custom domain on links

Once verified, your domain appears in the domain dropdown on the Create Link screen alongside the default. Pick it and the link's short URL uses your branding. The default domain is always available too.

Managing domains

Each domain card shows its status and DNS records. Admins can re-verify, disable, or remove a domain. Members get a read-only view. Disabling or removing a domain stops it from being used for new links.
